Reviews for COFFEEDUCK FOR SENSEO ? NEW GENERATION (Kitchen & Home) It's great! I must have decaf and senseo best do 16's within their pods. I now have a choice of decaf coffee's to selected from (still restricted but is far better)and it can be figuring out less pricey. Is straightforward to wash and fill. Am more than happy with it.
Reviews for COFFEEDUCK FOR SENSEO ? NEW GENERATION (Kitchen & Home) I bought this for my espresso loving husband who simply changed his previous espresso pod senseo computing device. This duck implys he could make a cup of coffee, whatever strength and flavour he needs. Sometimes espresso pods are difficult to come by. He loves it.
Reviews for COFFEEDUCK FOR SENSEO ? NEW GENERATION (Kitchen & Home) I've been in search of a refillable, reusable coffee pod for my Senseo Viva Cafe HD7825. I used to be paying over 16p a cup for the dear yet limited-range of Senso pods however now I'm enjoying my favorite espresso as quickly as once more AND only paying about 8p a cup!
I offered two varieties of pod - the "coffeeduck" and, from every other supplier, a pair of "Melitta Padfilters" at about a 2/3rds the associated fee. With the savings in cup value, the espressoduck will pay for itself in about 100 cups (25 days in our house!) and the Melittas in about 68 cups (17 days).
But the proof is in the pudding. Both are straightforward to fill with ground coffee - just add 2 heaped teaspoons, stage off, then pop on lid (although that is quite fiddlier with the Melitta because the lid has clips). Both fit perfectly within the HD7825 (use the Senseo 2-pod holder with the Melitta) and the coffee from both is beautiful (but somewhat less crema froth than Senseo pods). But they do have their own benefits.
The Melitta wins on value AND you get two in a pack so it is fast to make 2 cups or that you may even pre-prepare two pods and keep them in the fridge ready for breakfast (with the coffeeduck, I'd need to empty and rinse sooner than making the 2nd - no great onerousship but it may help somebody to make the choice). But slightly messier to empty and rinse.
The espressoduck wins on use - no liquid in it after brewing (the Melitta nonetheless had liquid in it), more uncomplicated to dispose of the lid to empty (just slips on/off - no clips), more uncomplicated to empty (used the metallic handle to faucet it on the threshold of the bin = virtually empty!) a lot less mess when rinsing it off and, being product of metallic, it feels way more robust and excellent high quality. It also comes with complete instructions and "troubleshooting" tips so I know the easiest means to get stronger/frothier coffee (use finely floor!).
After all that, I'm pleased I bought the coffeeduck, even on the greater price.
